It's been a while...

Hello everyone! It has been a while since I have been on here, and I have nothing to account for that. It's just that nothing has really been going on. But some minor changes in my life are that I REALLY enjoy the show Lost! I just finished the first season, and I am seriously hooked. I didn't think that I would like it when I saw the previews, but MAN was I WRONG!!! Adam and I also decided that we really need to start doing our devotions daily. It's just one of those things that gets pushed to the side, and it's crazy because that is the MOST important thing in our lives. I decided to go through Romans 12:9-21. There are so many principles to apply in that passage, so I am planning on taking a week to focus on each point. It will take forever, but I am really excited to rise to the challenge and do my own study. Besides that, nothing is going on. Pretty boring. I'm sure that when I dive into my reading, I will have a TON to blog about, so stay tuned! I will leave you with that passage...

Romans 12:9-21

Let love be without hypocrisy.Abhor what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love; give preference to one another in honor; not lagging behind in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord; rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer, contributing to the needs of the saints, practicing hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep. Be of the same mind toward one another; do not be haughty in mind, but associate with the lowlyDo not be wise in your own estimation. Never pay back evil for evil to anyone Respect what is right in the sight of all men. If possible,so far as it depends on you, be at peace with all men. Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written, "VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY," says the Lord. "BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD." Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

Until next time...

Simpler Lifer

Ten principles for
living a simpler life

1. Know your top three priorities. Whether that's family, faith, and work or fun, food and friends, you'll make better time decisions when your values are straight in your mind.

2. Make your priorities a priority. It's one thing to talk the talk. Walk the walk, too, and let your commitments reflect your values.

3. Always move forward. A balanced life isn't static; it's keeping a secure hold on your values, goals, and dreams while you grow, learn, change, and love.

4. Be honest with yourself. Your gut (not to mention your conscience!) knows what it's talking about; listen up when it's telling you something.

5. Know your limits. "No" is the right response when the request doesn't fit in with your life priorities--no guilt required.

6. Let go when you can't be in control. When you can't change something, don't waste time worrying: work around it or forget about it.

7. Face chores cheerfully. No matter how well you prioritize your time, mundane tasks go with the territory. Embrace the everyday, and time will fly.

8. Spend smartly. Everything you buy is a direct result of the time you spend working. Make sure your hours are purchasing something worthwhile.

9. Love your home. A space that provides sanctuary and gives you pleasure is essential for your well-being.

10. Take time for yourself. You'll never find time to simplify your life if you don't give it to yourself.

If found this site blog surfing...of course! It was very refreshing. Sometimes, we all need a little reality check, and this was mine. My GOAL is to live a simple life, but somehow life just gets too crazy! Can anyone relate?? But, I figure that if I keep these things on the forefront of my mind, things are bound to improve! The hardest on that list for me are #5 and #6... for sure.

Here is the website if you guys want to check it out :)

Anyone Interested???

Ok... well.....I was just thinking that most of my "friends" who blog are wives, girls, sisters, friends, workers, etc. So, tell me what you think about this proposal.... What if some of us started a blog together?! We could still obviously have our own sites that would be our primary sites, but we could have a site where we could all help each other out. Whether it be dinner recipes, cleaning tips, fun stories about being any of the different "roles" as I mentioned above, or just anything that we think would be helpful or uplifting to all the other ladies out there in the world...what do you guys think? Anyone interested? Let me know....

Thanks girls!

Hair Improvements

Adam and I made some changes to our hair. Adam shaved his beard off, well...first he made sure we could see what a mustache would look like on himethough :) And I made the move to lighten my hair...I was so done with the dark. I'm still getting use to it, but I think I like it! Just thought I'd let you guys in on the changes....

P.S. I Love You

I just watched this movie tonight. I was wondering if I should, since losing my husband is like my WORST fear! But it was really good. Definitely my kind of movie. It had just enough laughter and crying for a girl to get all her emotions out :) But it did make me think about losing Adam. The sad part is that it happens to a lot of people. And I can't be naive to think that we are invincible. It gives me so much respect for those who have lost someone. It takes GREAT strength & courage to keep going.
As I'm writing this tonight, Adam isn't at home. He is at a concert...Demon Hunter & Living Sacrifice...not my kind of gig. But I'm all paranoid and can't sleep until he's home;thanks be to the movie! :( Bummer.
Thanks for being a time-filler for me everyone!
