Misunderstandings

Hello Everyone!

My blog entries have been pretty scarce lately, but my mind is dry. I have no inspiration!! However, the other night Adam and I had one of those situations where we realize that we are so different in the way we think. One of those conflicts in marriage/living together things.

Adam was getting ready to teach his sermon for the high school group, and he was totally focused. While he did that, I decided to clean the house, because it helps him if I'm awake when he has to stay up late...and the house needed some good cleanin'! So anyways, about 3/4 of the way through my cleaning, Adam asked if I could make him something to eat. I decided that I would make him something after I was done mopping our bathroom. Well after the mopping, I needed to throw in another load of laundry, and do the dishes. I thought that I would throw some food together on the stove while I did the dishes. This whole time, I'm thinking; "Man, once he comes out here and notices that the WHOLE house is clean, the laundry is done, and his dinner is made, he will be so impressed!".......well, finally he comes out of our room and asks when his dinner would be ready because he had asked like 40 min ago by that time, and it was almost done.....then he sat down to eat, and he said, " These noodles are kind of watery." I told him that I was sorry because I knew that it had been a long time, but my feelings were kinda hurt because he hadn't even noticed how hard I had worked to get all that stuff done!

Later we talked about it more, and realized the different takes each of us had about the situation. He was upset with me because he felt like I wasn't thinking of him, or putting him first by making him some dinner, and I felt like he didn't appreciate what I did that whole time, which was the reason his noodles were "watery"! Ah!

It was a silly little thing, but it's just so interesting how men & women can be so different. He was thinking of his basic needs and I was letting all of my emotions get all wrapped up in the situation.

So, I'm not quite sure why I blogged about this, but I guess it's just one of those funny stories about living with someone and being married that you want to remember for a long time :) All over some "watery" noodles!!

And as a disclaimer, Adam is not one of those guys that's like "Where's my dinner woman!?". Even though it may have appeared that way :) In a normal situation, he would have made his own dinner!

P.S. I have lots of pictures to post of our weekend! Hopefully tonight :)

Love, Krystle

isn't it funny how we married couples work sometimes?! A couple weeks after Matt and I got married and moved into our condo, we got in this HUGE fight about putting cabinet liners in. I thought it was so weird that his family never put down liners in their cabinets and he thought it was weird that my family DID! I wanted liners to look pretty and make our cabinets look cleaner and he thought it was a huge waste of money and time. I don't even remember what the big deal was, but I do remember that I was fuming mad at him. Just one of those things I guess! :)
