Sweet Home Alabama & Cold Sores

How's that for a title! Ha Ha!! Ok, so let me explain. A few days into my guitar lessons, Adam asked me which "popular" riff (spelling?) I would like to play. So, I chose "Sweet Home Alabama". It's coming along...learning guitar is so frustrating though because you can hear the song in your head, but your fingers won't play the song fast enough! AHHHH!

And now for the cold sore part. I woke up last night around 1:00am and had a tingling feeling on my lip...I know what that means....a MASSIVE cold sore is coming. And it did. So, my question to all of you is ... Do you know any really good cold sore remedies? I have seriously tried everything and NOTHING works....Or if it does work, it works only once, then the next time it seems to make it worse....please HELP! Everytime I have a cold sore, I feel like everyone is staring at it, and I want it to go away as fast as possible!!!

P.S. I know that this is a SUPER random post!

Thanks guys!

ok we learned about cold sores at work! I got this off the internet but this is what everyone says to do:
"Acidophilus" Take four acidophilus capsules three or four times a day with milk. The milk is an activating culture medium for the bacilli. This will soothe the sore and speed up healing. If you do this when you feel a burning or itching at the onset of the cold sore, this remedy may inhibit the formation of the lesion.

I think you can get these at like whole foods of trader joes, somewhere like that

oh gosh! I've been plagued with cold sores since I was young, too, and I HATE that familiar tingling feeling! I usually ice it and use Abreva RIGHT AWAY and try not to mess with it, and it will somewhat go away in a week or so. use Carmex or some other kind of good lip balm and keep it super-moisturized, it helps it not crack, yuck. Ohh I got one on my WEDDING DAY and luckily it didn't erupt until the evening and we were all done with pics! boy was I lucky. Hope yours goes away ASAP! :)

Have you ever tried treating it 2-3 times a day with hydrogen peroxide? That usually works for me.

By the way, Redeeming Love is one of my favorite books of all time too.

Garlic poultice. Take a piece of clean gauze, crush a clove of garlic, or just a slice of a clove, fold the gauze over the garlic and then add a few drops of hot water over it. Place on the cold sore every day 2-3 times a day. Garlic is the KING of herbs, and it really does work. However, this may not work if you do not like the smell of fresh garlic. :c) I'm Shannon's friend, Logan. Glad to see you've joined "Something Good"!!! :c)

Garlic. I just took a slice of a clove and put it on the cold sore under a bandaid and it went away in a night
