Happy Engagement Day To Us!
Three years ago today, Adam proposed to me! It was the most wonderful & much anticipated day of my life. I thought I would recap that day for you all.
Adam and I had a hard time convincing my parents that we should get married. Well, get married sooner rather than later. They really wanted me to finish college before we got married (thankfully I didn't do that because we still would have been dating now! Years later... AH!!!!). But anyways, he told me that day that he was just waiting for the right time to go to them to get their blessing. I was SO nervous about it. I kept asking him when he was going to do it, and he said it probably wouldn't be for another few weeks or so.
Well, that day, he said that he wanted to go on a date with me. Of course I said yes, and we headed off to Mill Avenue in Tempe. He took me shopping, and we walked around all day talking about how we wanted to be married, and what it would be like, and I looked at Bride magazines at Borders. Then he asked me where I wanted to go for dinner. NOT thinking that it was going to be our engagement day's dinner, I chose UNO's Pizza! Had I known otherwise I probably would have chose something WAY better :) But we had a blast anyways. Looking back, I'm glad I made that decision actually, because we aren't too fancy, and that was totally somewhere that we would go in our everyday lives. After that, he took me down to Tempe Town Lake, and we rented one of those electric boats...not the paddle boats, but the real ones. It was dark outside, and the lights from the bridges were on, and it was just so romantic. Adam asked me all kinds of questions, like about what our first date was like, where we went, all of that,...and then he asked me what happened when we had our first kiss ( like he didn't remember! Ha!) ... so I told him about it, and I told him that I remembered him saying right before he kissed me- " I just can't take it anymore". We had been hanging out for a while by that time, and we both wanted to kiss eacho ther so bad! So, that night, right after I told him that story he said....
"Well, there is something else that I can't take anymore"...and he pulled out the ring, got on his knee, and asked me to marry him! ..... and then we made-out for a while!!! Ha ha!!!
Wow. It's so good to remember those times. We were so excited & I think relieved that the day had FINALLY come :)
So, there you have it. The story of us.....(ready for me to be cheesy?!).....
.....AND THE REST IS HISTORY!

The Pains of Pet Owners
Remember these two? Cute, white, fluffy, lovey, fun....well, that's what they WERE! A few weeks ago Sophie started her 3rd heat. The first few weeks are fine; Steve notices her a little more, Sophie goes around the house humping Steve while he growls at her, and they are pretty much normal other than that. I don't know when this happens, but about at about week 3, something happens. It's like Steve's brain kicks in, and he understands what is happening. And he literally starts going CRAZY! Now, keep in mind, my dogs aren't even 2 years old, so they are probably like what, 8 or9 in doggie years?! So, they are VERY new at this stuff. Sophie has it down, but Steve definitely does not. He goes around the house following her every move and acting sooo nervous about everything. If we take him outside he barks at everyone, and can't even stay in one place long enough to pee. In the evening when we are home, Steve follows her around (like I said before), and then he just stands over her. He doesn't hump or anything, he just stands. And he doesn't even do this in the right place. He stands facing her side or her face or something. I feel so bad for her! Adam and I call their room the "Torture Chamber" while we are gone because Steve never leaves her alone! ha ha!
This would all be fine & dandy, but here is the problem. When Adam and I are sleeping, Steve whimpers all night!! He sleeps wherever she is, and looks at her and whines! I am a really light sleeper, so last night I was awake literally the entire night. I don't know why he whimpers, ... my theory is that he just wants to do it so bad, and he can't figure it out, so it makes him upset at night! Ha Ha ha! I don't know. And we can't put him in a different room because he would go nuts! He barks like crazy when he can't be with her when she's in heat...AHHH!
I'm sure you are asking now, "Why don't you get her neutered, or get Steve fixed or something?" Great question. Answer: One day they are going to have the cutest puppy ever, and in the meantime we will wait in agony about every 5-6 months or so, so that they can go through this hard time in their marriage. Maybe one day, little Steve will finally figure it out :)

Favorite Quotes
I was watching one of my favorite movies last night- Sweet Home Alabama- and I really enjoy the script of that movie. It has so many great 1 liners! So, I thought that I would post some of my favorite movie quotes....mostly so that I can look them up and laugh :) Enjoy!
"What? What? Where's the funny? Give it to me."
-Michael Scott, The Office
....I know it's not a movie, but it should be!
"You may look around and see two groups here; white collar, blue collar. But I don't see it that way, and you know why not? Because I am collar-blind."
-Michael Scott, The Office
"Jim told me you can buy gaydar online."
-Dwight Schrute, The Office
"I say hurl. If you blow chunks and she comes back, she's yours. But if you spew and she bolts, then it was never meant to be. "
- Wayne Cambell, Wayne's World
"Hey Phil, if you're gonna spew, spew into this."
-Garth, Wayne's World
"It's like a new pair of underwear. At first it's constrictive, but after a while it becomes a part of you."
-Garth, Wayne's World
"But I'd like the pie heated, and I don't want the ice cream on top. I want it on the side, and I'd like strawberry instead of vanilla if you have it. If not, then no ice cream, just whipped cream, but only if it's real. If it's out of the can, then nothing."
-Sally Albright, When Harry Met Sally
"When I buy a new book, I read the last page first. That way, in case I die before I finish, I know how it ends. That, my friend, is a dark side."
-Harry Burns, When Harry Met Sally
"I'm down, I've got the 411, and you are not going out and getting jiggy with some boy, I don't care how dope his ride is. My momma didn't raise no foo'!"
-Walter Stratford, 10 Things I Hate about You
"And I'll get to sleep at night. The deep slumber of a father whose daughters aren't out being impregnated."
-Walter Stratford, 10 Things I Hate about You
I could go on forever with many more movies, but I won't :) Hope some of them made you laugh! I definitely did!

Misunderstandings
My blog entries have been pretty scarce lately, but my mind is dry. I have no inspiration!! However, the other night Adam and I had one of those situations where we realize that we are so different in the way we think. One of those conflicts in marriage/living together things.
Adam was getting ready to teach his sermon for the high school group, and he was totally focused. While he did that, I decided to clean the house, because it helps him if I'm awake when he has to stay up late...and the house needed some good cleanin'! So anyways, about 3/4 of the way through my cleaning, Adam asked if I could make him something to eat. I decided that I would make him something after I was done mopping our bathroom. Well after the mopping, I needed to throw in another load of laundry, and do the dishes. I thought that I would throw some food together on the stove while I did the dishes. This whole time, I'm thinking; "Man, once he comes out here and notices that the WHOLE house is clean, the laundry is done, and his dinner is made, he will be so impressed!".......well, finally he comes out of our room and asks when his dinner would be ready because he had asked like 40 min ago by that time, and it was almost done.....then he sat down to eat, and he said, " These noodles are kind of watery." I told him that I was sorry because I knew that it had been a long time, but my feelings were kinda hurt because he hadn't even noticed how hard I had worked to get all that stuff done!
Later we talked about it more, and realized the different takes each of us had about the situation. He was upset with me because he felt like I wasn't thinking of him, or putting him first by making him some dinner, and I felt like he didn't appreciate what I did that whole time, which was the reason his noodles were "watery"! Ah!
It was a silly little thing, but it's just so interesting how men & women can be so different. He was thinking of his basic needs and I was letting all of my emotions get all wrapped up in the situation.
So, I'm not quite sure why I blogged about this, but I guess it's just one of those funny stories about living with someone and being married that you want to remember for a long time :) All over some "watery" noodles!!
And as a disclaimer, Adam is not one of those guys that's like "Where's my dinner woman!?". Even though it may have appeared that way :) In a normal situation, he would have made his own dinner!
P.S. I have lots of pictures to post of our weekend! Hopefully tonight :)
