Sneak Peak!

Here is our first sneak peak of the pictures that we took with our dear friend Jennifer. Check out her other photography at: jenniferlaurenphotography.blogspot.com
We are sooooo thrilled. We were able to check out a few shots before we left on her camera, and I was ALREADY blown away. I can't even imagine what the rest will look like once she does her magic to them! She does SUCH a good job, and it really was sooo much fun.
As soon as I get more I will post them! Can't wait!!!

Early Christmas Present for YOU!

Well, the families have been informed, Adam and I have had time to let it sink in, and now it's time to let my blogging family know what I am having!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are having a little......

Adam and I are sooooooooooo excited!!!!!!!!!!!! It's the best christmas gift ever :) We are so thankful that she has 2 kidneys, 4 chambers of her heart, a bladder, lips, that my umbilical cord is indeed nourishing her, that she has 2 feet, 2 legs, 2 arms, and overall is just a HEALTHY LITTLE GIRL! It's funny how when you are in the room to get the ultrasound that the you are so focused on what it is that you forget about all the health stuff. Which is the most important part.

The only tiny red flag & prayer request is that my placenta and cervix are a little too close together. Well, a lot too close together (about 1 cm apart). If it doesn't move apart more it could possibly cause some complications. I have another follow up ultrasound in 3 weeks, so if you could all be praying that my body does what it needs to do, that would be much appreciated.

Love,

Adam, Krystle , and Ellie!

Surprise!!!!!!!

Sometimes plans don't work like we expect them to. We have high hopes, and try really hard, but I think that God has something else in mind. For example, my plan was to get 100% out of debt in just a few months, save up a 3-6 month emergency fund, complete nursing school, and save up a huge down-payment for our first home. Adam and I have been so incredibly excited about this plan for a long time now and have been making some GREAT head-way. But, God threw in a little something to rock our boats...

I'm Pregnant!!!

I suppose that's not a little something, but a BIG something! We found out almost 2 weeks ago, and were in complete shock for the first few days. This was totally NOT planned....not an accident (because I don't want my kid to think it was an accident!).

So here we are, almost 2 months pregnant and I just found out!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! It's crazy, but very cool. We are trying to adjust as much as we can to this new life we are about to enter, but we still feel VERY in the dark.

Prayers are needed people! We are excited, nervous, scared, apprehensive, happy, ....you name it. And I am just a FLOOD OF EMOTIONS :)

Signing off,
Adam, Krystle and baby Porter

Birthday Post

So, September 28th (Sunday) was my 23rd birthday! Unfortunately I didn't take a lot of pictures, but I will tell you about some of the highlights :)

My birthday started on Friday. My awesome friend Alexa made dinner for Adam and I, AND cleaned up :) Love it! Then we all hung out played games, and she made a yummy strawberry dessert...my favorite! We also watched the McCain & Obama debate...which was completely frustrating...but that's another topic that I will not even go into since I love all of you and want you to continue to read my blog.

Then on Saturday, Adam and I went first thing in the morning to go buy a gun....I know...some of you may be thinking, "No way. Adam and Krystle are SOOOO not the gun-type."...But hear me when I say we are hard-core, people!! Ha ha! Just kidding :) It's mostly because we didn't feel ENTIRELY safe in the new apartments we are moving into & wanted further protection. AND it will be cool to go shooting :) And wait...let me get this right....we got a Smith & Wesson 357 Magnum Revolver. Wow...I impress myself! ok, onto the rest of the day...

After that, we went to this AWESOME little brunch place in old "snooty-town" Scottsdale, which I love! It was totally a girly place, and it was a different feel being there with Adam instead of a girl since he was making fun of it the whole time :) But very fun! Then we went to go see Ghost Town. I wasn't all that impressed, but it had it's moments. Meanwhile, the whole day Adam is saying that he has this GREAT surprise for me that he KNOWS I will love. So, all day I was asking him "Is this the part I'm going to love?!?!?!". After the movie, we were so exhausted, ya know, since were super old and not used to having that much fun in one day!, that we came home to rest for a while....now that I write that, I feel SUPER lame for coming home.....I mean come on, I'm 23 for goodness sakes!!! After our little rest, Adam and I went to a Diamondbacks game...I was so sure that this was the surprise that he thought I would love, but it wasn't. We were walking into the stadium, and Adam said, " Ok, are you ready for the surprise?!" I said yes, and this is what the BIG surprise was.....

He said, "Well, with the tickets we bought, we get to get all the food we want during the whole game through the 7th inning!!!!!" - Bahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

Now keep in mind, to me this was TOTAL music to my ears. And yes, I did feel like somewhat of a Fatty!!!!!....However, I am a total junk food junkie! Love it! I love candy, chips, soda, you name it...anything bad for me is what I love most. Leave it to my husband to give me such a practical surprise :)...Not a night at a 4-star hotel....not a fancy dinner out by a lake.....an ALL YOU CAN EAT SPECIAL!!! I will hold onto this story forever :)

I'm soooo tired of writing now, but on Sunday we went over to my parents and spent some good quality time over there. I got really sick by the time the afternoon hit and continued my sickness through Tuesday night, but all-in-all my birthday was VERY enjoyable. Glad to be 23!!

Me playing a racing game....And I'm not sure why I look so weird...I just do.
Adam being very intense
Us taking fountain shots at Scottsdale Fashion Square
My mom and I on my birthday day....and the cake isnt' decorated because I wanted Strawberry Shortcake...the other ingredients are not shown above....but it was delicious!!
Again, sorry for the COMPLETE lack of photos. But we forgot our camera for 1/2 of the time.
Peace!

Revenge of the Dogs

Every so often, it seems like Steve & Sophie like to get back at us for leaving them in the bathroom all day. Today was one of those days. When I open the door, they both have the look of pure excitement on their faces...it's like they knew what they were doing. I thought I'd let you in on the secret life of our dogs when we leave the house....

This is how you know they were up to something...
The Damage
The Culprits: Steve & Soph
It always gives me a good laugh though :) ....and one more thing...don't judge me because my bathroom is so messy...I don't always live like this.

The Prototype

Below I have attached a "model" of our soon to be coffee table for our new apartment. Right now, all we have is a little cheap IKEA table, and we DO NOT like it. Adam and I connsidered buying a new one, then Adam thought of just making one. Adam and Ben (our roommate), worked so hard to make this little guy, and even went to Lowe's to pick out wood and everything for the dimensions. I was so proud of him! Quite the handyman! So, I posted this on here to show you the original, and when it is all completed ( hopefully in a few weeks) I will be posting an awesome custom made Porter table!!! ....oh yeah, and when they were making it, Alexa and I weren't allowed to come home so that they had time to move the our current coffee table, and replace it with the new one! Ha!!!

The view from the top: Note that there are 3 different compartments to store things in :)
They are soo cute. They made this out of a Honey Bunches of Oats box!!!
View from the side
View from the other side.....you can see how small it is because Sophie is soooo tiny (4 lbs to be exact), and she towers over this little guy!!

Happy Engagement Day To Us!

Us Then
Us Now

Three years ago today, Adam proposed to me! It was the most wonderful & much anticipated day of my life. I thought I would recap that day for you all.

Adam and I had a hard time convincing my parents that we should get married. Well, get married sooner rather than later. They really wanted me to finish college before we got married (thankfully I didn't do that because we still would have been dating now! Years later... AH!!!!). But anyways, he told me that day that he was just waiting for the right time to go to them to get their blessing. I was SO nervous about it. I kept asking him when he was going to do it, and he said it probably wouldn't be for another few weeks or so.

Well, that day, he said that he wanted to go on a date with me. Of course I said yes, and we headed off to Mill Avenue in Tempe. He took me shopping, and we walked around all day talking about how we wanted to be married, and what it would be like, and I looked at Bride magazines at Borders. Then he asked me where I wanted to go for dinner. NOT thinking that it was going to be our engagement day's dinner, I chose UNO's Pizza! Had I known otherwise I probably would have chose something WAY better :) But we had a blast anyways. Looking back, I'm glad I made that decision actually, because we aren't too fancy, and that was totally somewhere that we would go in our everyday lives. After that, he took me down to Tempe Town Lake, and we rented one of those electric boats...not the paddle boats, but the real ones. It was dark outside, and the lights from the bridges were on, and it was just so romantic. Adam asked me all kinds of questions, like about what our first date was like, where we went, all of that,...and then he asked me what happened when we had our first kiss ( like he didn't remember! Ha!) ... so I told him about it, and I told him that I remembered him saying right before he kissed me- " I just can't take it anymore". We had been hanging out for a while by that time, and we both wanted to kiss eacho ther so bad! So, that night, right after I told him that story he said....

"Well, there is something else that I can't take anymore"...and he pulled out the ring, got on his knee, and asked me to marry him! ..... and then we made-out for a while!!! Ha ha!!!

Wow. It's so good to remember those times. We were so excited & I think relieved that the day had FINALLY come :)

So, there you have it. The story of us.....(ready for me to be cheesy?!).....

.....AND THE REST IS HISTORY!

Surprise!

This past weekend, Adam and I went on a HOT DATE!!! Well, actually....that's what I TOLD him we were doing. What we were really doing was going on a surprise trip to California! It was so awesome because he had absolutely NO idea, and thought that we were going to a Diamondbacks game :) And I'm usually not very good at keeping a surprise a surprise, but since I decided to go literally that day, it made it a lot easier to keep in. Adam and I have needed some good quality time together. Once we start to get easily annoyed with eachother is when I know that we need to focus on us a little bit. And that was exactly what we did. We had such a great time, and really enjoyed eachothers company. It reminded us that we are still so in love! Here are some pictures of our little get-away...

Me= Super Excited that I planned this!
